Addition Information

The New York Police Department did a ten year study of over 6,000 police shootings. They determined there was no correlation between marksmanship and combatsmanship. Their “hit” ratio was 17%. When you keep in mind that 90% of their gun fights were 15 feet or less and that 81% were six feet or less, that statement becomes important.

Before Threat Focused Shooting was taught, 70% of the policemen did not use their sights and another 10% weren’t sure if they did; their focus was on the threat.

The author concluded that all should learn to Threat Focus Shoot.

This has been further seen in our Force on Force courses. No one used their sights and if you blinked, you missed the whole fight. Most shot from the hip (bad guy was very close) and all shot with one hand…and ALL were moving.

Further, the author noted that the reason most prevailed was use of cover. We cannot stand still and must fight on the move to get to cover and safety. Moving also changes the “Ooda loop (Observe, Orientate, Decide, Act) forcing the bad guy to react to you. As law abiding Concealed Carry License Holders, we will be reacting to an action…we will be behind.

Most of the police gun fights were in low light; take your gun outside at dusk and see how hard it is to see your sights, it is very hard…so is using those sights on the move. With Threat Focused Shooting, if you can see the threat, you can hit the threat.
Threat Focused Shooting (Point Shooting) uses gross motor skills versus the fine motor skills used in target practice. Under fight or flight response, fine motor skills go away.

Threat focused shooting; also known as defensive shooting, point shooting, or practical defensive shooting involves the use of our natural God given ability WE ALL HAVE to point at an object. If you take the time to look down your pointed finger, you will notice just how close you are actually pointing at that object.

We will take that natural gift and use it in our class and to our benefit.

We have approximately 1,500,000 people in Florida who have a Florida Concealed Weapons License. We feel strongly that all carrying a firearm needs to learn this skill and all can learn it.

This course price reflects our strong conviction that all carrying a concealed weapon need to learn this skill. It could save your life or the lives of your loved ones.
